PRESIDENT'S NOTES Ken Warren President Mid-Atlantic Newspaper Advertising & Marketing Executives Fellow Members:   It was a pleasure seeing a lot of you in Charlotte at our June conference.  It was a great conference and a lot of people worked on the sessions to provide some very valuable information to those in attendance.   I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Mid-Atlantic during some difficult times for our industry.  It’s been a tough couple of years for our industry.  But, in many ways things are looking up and a lot of you expressed optimism that we are going to rebound.   I want to thank the individuals who have agreed to serve on the Board of Directors for the coming year.  We will work hard to provide you with the support you need to help grow your business at your property.  Feel free to call any member of the board if you have a question.  We can also provide members with email blasts to all of our membership.  It’s a great way to get advice on issues that may have you stumped.  Remember, everyone in the newspaper business is always willing to share an opinion.   Sue Beck is looking for ideas for the 2011 conference to be held April 14-16 at The Blockade Runner Resort Hotel in Wrightsville Beach, NC.  We will continue to look at ways to help our members grow audience whether that is from our print or interactive.  And, of course, how do we grow revenue from that increased audience.  If you have any ideas about program sessions, feel free to contact Sue.  I hope all of you will find a way to get this included in your 2011 budget.  I have never attended a Mid-Atlantic meeting where I didn’t bring back a revenue producing idea that more than paid for my trip.   Again, if you have any questions or advice for our association, feel free to give me a call.  I look forward to working with you and serving you this year.   Sincerely, Ken Warren VP of Advertising Freedom ENC Communications.
